新しいこと でちょっと思った。
昨日エントリーした「建築ＢＡＲについて」のなかに
何度も『新しいこと』と書いた。
で、ちょっと思った。
「新しいこと」ってなんだ？
大体が今の時代に本当に新しいことってあるのだろうか。
何かを進化・改良させた新製品は毎日毎日出来ているのだろうが
『全く新しいこと』ってことではない気もする。
例えば、私にとっての新しいことは
『本』の出版は新しい試みである。
しかし、「本」は遥か昔から存在するし、「本」を書いた人も無数に存在する。
『建築ＢＡＲ』も全く新しい試みである。
しかしこれも、「ＢＡＲ」は遥か昔から存在するし、
時にはそれが「サロン」という呼び方だったりする。
そして、「ＢＡＲ」をやっている人は無数に存在する。
でもでも、私にとっては全く新しいことであるのは間違いない。
建築家が新しいことを目指す。
材料を探す。
工法を探る。
それでも、過去の建築家も同じ事を考え
出来上がってみると「○○と似ているな」と見えるときもある。
「おっ、それ新しいね！」という基準だけで物事を判断してはいけないように思う。
そう。
「新しいこと」をやるのが目的であってはいけない。と思った。
