「ネーミング」の凄さ
言語を操る文化の中では、ほとんどのものに名前がついています。
そして、その名前によってそのものがどういうものなのかを
判断することが多いと思います。
名前の持つパワーは凄いなーといつも感じています。
ある本に書いてありました。
ニュートンのもっとも凄いところは
りんごが木から落ちるのを見て
引力を発見したことではない。
それに『万有引力』という名前を付けたことだ。
りんごが木から落ちることは誰でも知っていることだったのに
その現象に名前をつけたことが凄いということ。
ニュートンは、人類ではじめてりんごが木から落ちたのを見つけたのではない。
それにはじめて名前をつけたということ。
なるほど！と思った。
昨今、いろんな分野の商品名が
やたらと長くなっている気がします。
小林製薬さんの商品はその代表選手でしょうか。
もはや、商品名というより使用説明のようです。
書籍も然り。
「〇〇が××して、△△な□□な方法」
なんていうのをよく見ませんか？
まあ、とにかくネーミングはとても大事だなあと
改めて実感している今日この頃であります。

でも、最近は段々とモノの名前を覚えられなくなってきたような・・・。
まあ、独立しすぎて、孤立しないように気をつけます。
